Well we made it ....to the end of last year that is!
Let's hope 2009 is kinder to us all than 2008. This year BANKIER
SLOAN will celebrate twenty-five years in business, a milestone worth a
drink or two as the year progresses. Watch this space! For now
however welcome to a New Year; business will be very tough but we'll still be
here in twelve months time. We hope we will continue to give good professional
advice, and we thank our many loyal clients for their on-going support. We may
not be able to influence the world economy, but I do believe we can
assist in the micro-ecomony in which most of our clients work.
January 2009 Banbury Industrial Guide:
Our Guide to Banbury's Industrial Estates can be found on-line. It has
already generated regional press, and radio interest as we
highlight the fact that there is now over One Million sq ft of empty industrial
space in the OX16 (Banbury) postcode area. Please read our Introduction and
study our Guide at
http://www.centre-p.co.uk/ABC%20Guide-JAN2009.pdf
Wanted sky-lights for industrial premises: I'm on
the look out for some large (approx 10' x 4' I think !) sky-lights
for a factory owned by a client. They are old imperial sizes, and no one seems
to be able to help. Any ideas of where we could source these will be welcome.
Please e-mail
reception@centre-p.co.uk
Frozen Water Pipes: It may not be too late to
save the situation! If you have an empty factory/ property check if the
pipes are empty of water. Did you drain them before the winter? The cold
snap is going on for a few days yet, so get in now and look. It is always better
to leave some heating on, than face the problem of a burst pipe once the weather
warms up. If you didn't drain the system or leave heating on your insurance
company may not pay-up for water damage!
This covers issues which have arisen in these times of 'Valuation
Uncertainty'.
Freehold Industrial
Unit Banbury : 1,950 sq ft. The existing lease on this
property is due to end in the next few months and the tenant is not renewing, so
our client may well sell the freehold . Price about £165,000. If interested
please e-mail reception@centre-p.co.uk just writing
'Freehold £165,000' in the Subject Box and we will forward the details
by return.
BBC Wake-up to Money: Tuesday 29th December
: A first for OUTLOOK....a Radio Programme for you to listen to!
Click
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00g4ccx/Wake_Up_to_Money_30_12_2008/
and move the time to 20 minutes 45 seconds and sit back and listen to this
5 minute chat .....in case you missed it at 5.52am (yes am !!) last
Tuesday. But
please listen today...by tomorrow (7 days since the
original broadcast) I think it will become a void link !
Queens Speech: Here's something which
will effect many businesses and which I missed in our December OUTLOOK ...the
Business Rate Supplementary Bill, which no doubt will become an Act ! This
will allow local councils to introduce a Business Rate Supplement of 2p/£,
but only were the rateable Value is MORE THAN £50,000...and yes this will
be payable even if the property is empty!
Advertising: A serious question for those
marketing property via local newspapers and national property journals. We
know the advertising prices are falling but are we as agents getting good
value for money? If I get enough reaction I might start a blog. Please let
me know. All comments to
reception@centre-p.co.uk
Duplicate copies of OUTLOOK: As we continue to
add hundreds of names per year to our e-mailing list we know that on
occasions we do duplicate names, and we are sorry to inconvience you if you do
receive multiple copies. If this does happen please "reply" to all but
the first copy you receive and our computer
will delete you from the extra listings. If you receive more than two I am
sorry but you are required to do this for each additional copy you receive.
If you wish to be totally removed from our listing again press "reply" and
just write "please remove" in the subject box and you will automatically be removed from future
mailings.
Nuneaton: I have been instructed to either sell or let a
very prominent site on Midland Road, Nuneaton. Full details of which can be
found at
http://www.centre-p.co.uk/Nuneaton(2).pdf.
This would be ideal for car sales or car/van rentals. It has planning permission
for such a use. I also believe at some point in the future it will be
re-developed for residential purposes.
