Annual trip to London:  As some of you may already know myself and my staff spend a day in London Christmas shopping, seeing a show etc.  This year this will be on Thursday 6th December, therefore our Deddington office will be unmanned for the whole day. I will however be contactable on my mobile  Last year one of my kind clients based in the West End invited me for morning coffee, while the ladies raided the shops...any invitation will be welcome. Planning - Minor Amendements: Some of you may not have picked up on the recent legal case relating to minor amendements to planning permissions.  In future, until the government change the situation in the forthcoming planning legislation, it will not be possible for authorities to accept minor changes.  Where a development is not constructed in accordance with the approved plans, for example an additional window is inserted during construction, one consequence of the legal case is that it's not just the window that is unauthorised, but the whole development; and in such circumstances Councils will consider taking enforcement action. You may not think it's a problem...until your bank ask for a certificate of completion...and the local authority refuse. Be warned !

Wanted:  800 - 1,500 sq ft suitable for "ladies only" fitness centre.  My retained clients are looking at towns such as Brackley, Buckingham, Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh and will look at any type of accommodation, probably in a secondary location, within walking distance of houses. The development of this unit may have taken slightly longer than planned but it does now look good...it's well worth viewing.

Northern Rock:  I have  absolutely no knowledge of the residential property market...and even less of the 'sub-prime' lending market...but I do wonder what the New Year will bring in the way of new revalations relating to lending on property across both the residential and commercial sector....one thing is for certain Professional Indemnity Insurance Premiums will rise for those carrying out valuation work....oh and if you were one of those who thought Wembley Stadium was expensive think on this....the government have lent Northern Rock, £24billion,  the equivalent of thirty Wembley stadiums...so presumably the interest (even if it is as low as 3.3%...and it won't be)..is the equivalent to one Wembley Stadium (£798m) every year...and then Someone will need to pay back the capital.  Now that really would make your bank manager have sleepless nights !
